Summary/Abstract: The European Union has recently adopted laws regulating media, digital online platforms, and media services. Ukraine, as a candidate country for EU membership, is confidently modernizing its legislation to regulate both analogue and digital media services, in line with the European Union's laws. The country firmly adheres to the principles of media freedom and freedom of speech, while also demonstrating its competence in protecting against disinformation and negative external information influences. In 2023, Ukraine implemented the Law on Media, which aligns Ukrainian legislation with the EU Audiovisual Media Services Directive. However, it is important to note that global online platforms and social media activities remain unregulated in Ukraine.
