Summary/Abstract: The authors address the question of the nature of journalism in the context of technological developments in the media ecosystem, including its co-evolutionary social context. Against this backdrop, their aim is not only to uncover its current conditions, but more importantly to present an up-to-date reflection on its state, or rather its emerging paradigm. Also, to identify the task of reconstructing journalism education and its key elements with regard to the aforementioned state of journalism. The authors point to the formation of journalism from the perspective of its understanding in a broad sense (pluralistic, inclusive, and including the application of artificial intelligence as an actor). They assess the difficulty of the task of reconstructing journalism or educating journalists in relation to its changing conditions and requirements. They note the need for a certain radicality in it, in view of its new context given by the different configurations of technologies, actors, and practices developed by them. Last but not least, they remind us that any (radical) modification of its criteria in this context will not change the need and importance of personal reflection, common sense, and wisdom, and, last but not least, the maintenance of the moral integrity of journalists in their exercise of journalism.
