Summary/Abstract: The paper is focused on the usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) by the regional broadcasters – members of CIRCOM, the European Association of Regional Television. The research is based on the organisation's annual conferences in the 5-year period 2019-2024. It studies the development of concepts on the application of AI in journalism as well as various approaches to the use of AI in the work of regional television across Europe. Subject of discussion are case studies which illustrate specifically the use of AI and more generally the use of AI in creation of media content as editorial product – on the one hand, and on the other – as means and opportunity for creativity at the disposal of various actors (equally creators with good intentions as well as not so well-intentioned authors) to produce audiovisual content for broadcast and digital (information, misinformation and misleading information).
