Summary/Abstract: Defining circumstances with positive and risky prospects is a good way to establish the state of citizen journalism at the local level. After thorough observation, we formulated several challenges with emphasized political, economic, social, and/or technological specifics. For the purposes of this article, we analyze, predict, and assess the low public awareness of the importance of hyperlocal citizen journalism, which we believe is of paramount importance for the development of hyperlocal citizen journalism.
