Summary/Abstract: The transition to a circular economy is of great importance to maintain the balance between quality of life and excessive consumption. In this regard, eco-innovations are established as a vital element for the development of business organizations and the economy. The main objective of the paper is to analyze and evaluate the trends in the development of the innovation activity of the EU countries and in particular Bulgaria in the field of eco-innovations. The results of different measurement are discussed, including eco-innovation index and some indicators related to circular economy in EU.
