Summary/Abstract: The growing gap between major cities and more remote regions is presenting serious societal challenges. Peripheral areas tend to offer fewer jobs, with less variety and lower qualifications. As a result, skilled workers are migrating to urban centers, leading to population decline in outlying regions. This widening disparity is largely driven by the increasing importance of knowledge-based industries, which thrive in cities due to factors like economies of scale, better skill alignment, and knowledge sharing. In contrast, remote regions, especially those reliant on traditional industries, are struggling to adapt to the modern economy. Regional support systems is important factors that influence on the creation and utilization of economic opportunities.
