Summary/Abstract: Whilst it is easy and comforting to accept that policymakers widely embrace digital transformation, it is rather important that scrutineers remember the recent near-misses. Consumer Banking, Smartphones, FinTech all provide a host of examples of near-misses, none of which were stopped and or blocked by Regulators. The goal of this paper is to draw readers’ attention to a few experiences which the author has experienced, both in London and Sofia, and to encourage a substantial slow-down of the overall initiative.
