Summary/Abstract: This chapter analyses the activities of enterprises in Poland against the backdrop of evolving national economic conditions. It focuses on the number, structure, and profitability of small, medium, and large enterprises, as well as employment dynamics. The study examines the distribution of businesses across PKD sections, the regional and legal forms of new business registrations, and the role of foreign capital, including Ukrainian capital. The findings high-light how foreign investments contribute to regional economic development and enterprise internationalisation.The aim of this chapter is to determine the key directions of support for enterprises and actions facilitating their internationalization and balanced regional development in Poland in the context of changes in the economic environment and the influence of foreign capital. The analysis further reveals that the sectors most attractive to businesses vary by size. The chapter also explores the increasing role of Ukrainian capital in the Polish economy, particularly in sectors like logistics, construction, and IT, and outlines the challenges faced by foreign investors, including regulatory and cultural barriers. This chapter is unique in synthesising economic and regional data to offer a nuanced perspective on enterprise activity and internationalisation in Poland. It provides actionable insights into improving the institutional environment to attract investments and foster sustainable business development.
