Summary/Abstract: In the conditions of globalization and free trade between countries, SMEs are constantly looking for ways to internationalize their business. They understand that this is a way to achieve a higher return on investment and to ensure company growth. Their small scale, as well as a number of other internal and external factors, make this process difficult. Given the importance of internationalization for the development of SMEs, the purpose of this publication is to briefly present the summarized results of a study and analysis of its level in a sample of Bulgarian SMEs. These results may be useful for properly directing the efforts of managers and government agencies to support internationalization in SMEs.
