Summary/Abstract: Water conservation is one of the priorities of European environmental policy. Climate change has sharpened attention to the topic of more sustainable use of water resources by reducing losses, limiting pollution and sustainable use. This report focuses on the European policy for the protection of water resources and the possibilities for its implementation at the national level. The main causes of water shortages and losses are examined, as well as possible measures for water conservation and more effective management. The report summarizes and analyzes data from a survey conducted on the use of water resources, based on which recommendations for improving access to water are formulated.
