Summary/Abstract: Digitisation in museums significantly improves visitor experiences and management processes, but the degree of integration and the results vary across Europe. This study compares the path and impact of digitisation in the Netherlands and Bulgaria, which have different technology levels. The study shows that Dutch museums are leading the way in digitisation, while Bulgaria is showing initial but promising results thanks to European support. The analysis highlights the differences in the conditions for digital transformation and the importance of these contextual factors.
