Summary/Abstract: The report examines the structure of the life insurance sector in Bulgaria. It begins with a theoretical analysis of the main regulations, regulatory mechanisms, actors and activities of the sector. In the empirical part of the analysis, I focus on the main indicators of development, the impact of the global financial crisis on the sector, the post-crisis recovery, as well as the impact of Covid-19 on development.
