Summary/Abstract: The global financial crisis (GFC) and the COVID-19 pandemic have caused significant economic shocks that have affected both macroeconomic indicators and consumer behavior. However, empirical evidence does not show a direct correlation between these events and foreign trade (FT) in pasta (PA). There has been a relative increase in imports of PA into the European Union (EU) during crises and recovery phases, in contrast to periods of economic growth. Exports of PA from the EU have shown a more erratic dynamics, with no clear trend observed.
