Summary/Abstract: The chapter explores the intersection of ecopsychology and sustainable development in the context of the climate crisis. It aims to examine how ecopsychology can contribute to addressing contemporary ecological challenges by analysing theoretical foundations and practical applications of this interdisciplinary field. The chapter employs a narrative literature review and synthesises selected topics to illustrate the relevance of ecopsychology in fostering pro-environmental behaviour. It draws on historical, psychological, andenvironmental perspectives to contextualise ecopsychology’s role in shaping sustainable development practices. It suggests that reconnecting with nature can foster more sustainable lifestyles, promote well-being, and mitigate the psychological impacts of the environmental crisis. The chapter highlights the therapeutic potential of ecopsychological interventions and their ability to cultivate empathy toward nature, which can lead to greater environmental responsibility. This chapter offers an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the psychological aspects of environmental sustainability. It contributes to the growing body of literature on how ecopsychology can inform sustainable development and offers practical recommendations for integrating these concepts into various sectors.
