Summary/Abstract: The management of innovation activity as a factor for the development of the defense industrial base is considered. The emphasis is placed on strategic management, as a new concept for the Bulgarian business environment to increase competitiveness and create management tools to turn these strategies into current production and business plans to be implemented in practice.
