Summary/Abstract: The activity of reading together with the child is one of the habits described in the literature as the most important way of connecting with children and stimulating their development. In today's context, reading has become a factor of holistic development, whether we are talking about reading at home or at school. The study Reading to Young Children: A head-start in life (Guyonne, 2013) built on several scholarly works and identified positive associations between reading activities by adults around children and children's later language skills. Regarding the provision of reading to children in kindergartens in Romania, the preschool curriculum foresees children's communication as a dimension of their development through the expression of specific behaviors (receptive communication, expressive communication, vocabulary expansion), which are exploited through specific activities, but without being described in detail.
