Summary/Abstract: The circular economy (CE) is one of the concepts that environmental economists are now debating the most, and it is a key component of the European Union Action Plan (Geisendorf and Pietrulla, 2018). The CE can be characterized as an economic model that promotes resource efficiency through waste reduction, long-term value retention, reduction of primary resources, and closed loops of products, product parts, and materials within the constraints of environmental protection and socioeconomic benefits (Morseletto, 2020). Monitoring and querying the process is one of the crucial elements in querying and maintaining a CE model for a system. According to Austrian economist Peter Drucker, being able to measure a system is necessary for managing and improving it: this also applies to resources in circular systems (Sassanelli et al. 2019).
