Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the present study is twofold: to make an investigation into the applicability of certain mathematical structures and traditional set theories to the field of terminology, and thus show the relationships between given concepts. The aim of our research of the analysis of French and Hungarian higher education terminology is to encode distinct lexemes and examine the relations between the different codes. The current study may shed further light on the applicability of these codes and may provide an answer to why these codes can be suitable – in certain cases even more suitable than traditional lexemes – for the analysis of conceptual relations. Findings gained through the analysis of the relations between the codes will hopefully provide us with a clearer and steadier view of the relationships between the designated concepts and will help us reduce conceptual ambiguities or unclarities.
