Summary/Abstract: In this study, we analyse the biogas production and potential use in Harghita County. From the potential substrates we have chosen waste and other secondary raw materials from the agriculture and food industry. The small scale production of biogas is part of a sustainable or integrated rural development system, which was taken into account the protection of the environment, but also produces alternative income for local rural people.
