Summary/Abstract: Aim of this paper is to present the results of a study about humor styles and their relationship to experience of emotions. The sample included 131 undergraduate students of the Faculty of Psychology at PanEuropean University. We used the Humor Styles Questionnaire (HSQ), which helps to differentiate between adaptive and maladaptive styles of humor. Selected indicators of emotional well-being were determined by the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS 42) and the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS). Results of linear regression showed that self-enhancing style of humor is a predictor of the depression, anxiety, positive and negative emotions. On the basis of the level of self-defeating style and aggressive style of humor it is possible to predict the level of depression. Affiliative style of humor predicted level of positive emotions. The research results indicate that self-enhancing style of humor is most closely connected with experience of emotions and emotional well-being.
