Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to inquire psychometric properties of Cloninger’s Temperament and Character inventory for adolescents (TCI-A). The Sample is the group of 211 adolescents from which 104 people participated in the pilot study and 107 participated in the main study. The internal consistency was satisfactory, the Cronbach’s alpha varied from 0,79 to 0,91. However, the consistency of some subscales (NS4, RD4) emerged as problematic. The test-retest reliability as a time consistency indicator was also found to be satisfactory. We have extracted only six factors with eigenvalue ≥1 using the Principal Component Analysis which is in contrast to the assumed theoretical model. But the factor solution, computed separately for temperament and character reflected approximately the Cloninger's model. In general, the reliability of TCI-A was confirmed. Further investigations concerning the TCI-A’s validity need to be made.
