Summary/Abstract: This article is an attempt to provide an analysis of the diary kept by the poet Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński during his imprisonment in Stalag-XI POW Camp in Altengrabow. Written in 1941, the diary remained unpublished until some 50 years after the author’s death. We will not find any of the poet’s stylistic methods in the entries. Religious themes dominate, as does the necessity to adapt personality traits. The diary throws light on the poet’s post-war works.
