Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is to analyze the problem and describe the available solutions for securing food for city residents in the face of the challenges of developing metropolises. Delivering food, just like the delivery of other items to cities, is currently very difficult. The context for the considerations is city management, in particular city logistics, because it proposes solutions regarding infrastructure barriers, transport congestion or urban sprawl. One of the ways to eliminate them is the production of food in cities, which is treated as a sustainable solution. The study is interdisciplinary and was written on the basis of literature from disciplines such as city management, urban logistics, and urban agriculture.
