Summary/Abstract: The article covers the analysis of the provisions concerning language education in the three successive core curricula, introduced in Poland in 1999, 2008, and 2017, and the discrepancies between them regarding the structure of the area, the goals and content of education, and the degree of independence left to teachers in creating their own curricula, selection of content and methods, and organization of the teaching process. These successive structural and curriculum reforms too often widen the area of uncertainty in the teacher’s work, which due to the pace of these changes, cannot be fully assimilated in terms of their basic assumptions and introduced into current teaching work.
