Summary/Abstract: Professional psychological measures include diagnosing and recommendations based on them. As J. Paluchowski states, this process requires answering the following questions: What is it? Why is it so? Why will it be so and not otherwise? What should be done to achieve the desired state? However, the analysis of psychological forensic diagnosis, documented with the results of scientific analyses, is not optimistic. The article aims to present the rules of diagnostic procedure compliant with the findings of modern science and their evidence in penitentiary practice. The obtained data and conducted analyses show the need to implement such measures that would result in improving effectiveness and success rate of the undertaken psychological activities.
