Summary/Abstract: In this text, the authors describe and analyze basic principles underlying the approachto tradition. The authors also propose a differentiation within the number of models of perceivingand describing tradition with the objective of reaching an optimal definition, from ethical, social,as well as pedagogical perspectives. The background for the discussion on this topic shall be thenarration of a local Silesian woman. A look at the subject’s biography shows how the power ofupbringing exerts a great influence through such narratives, thus making them the most significantfactors in the discovery and creation of one’s own identity.
