Summary/Abstract: Individuals interact with each other consciously or not. Consciously or not, they also succumb to suggestions. Knowledge of how to influence others and how to defend oneself against unwanted influence is also useful for board members, who should be aware of various techniques of influence. The psychology of management (but also behavioural economics) suggests how to avoid the situation in which only after making a certain decision will one realise that they have been manipulated. The use of the review method, focusing on theoretical decision-making practice, enables readers, including supervisory board members, to learn about the mechanisms that shape their behaviour in the decision-making process. In the era of the development of interdisciplinary sciences, board members should consider education in the proposed field as their professional duty, the failure to fulfil which may have serious consequences for the supervised capital company.
