Summary/Abstract: The text concerns the picture of Toruń in the works of Mieczysław Limanowski (1876–1948), a geologist, art critic and the co-founder of the Reduta Theatre, a professor of universities in Vilnius and Toruń. The author shows the interdisciplinarity of Limanowski’s works and his combining of scientific research and artistic creativity. Cities, especially Toruń and Vilnius, were of special interest of the artist as they united natural order and culture, history and space. The article is an attempt to approach Limanowski’s works in an interdisciplinary way.
