Summary/Abstract: In this paper we are interested in the realization of schwa (/ə/) by Greek-speaking learners, considering the challenge that is addressed to many learners of French as a foreign language. Our research was based on the principles set out by the IPFC (Interphonologie du Français Contemporain) project and conducted by means of a non-spontaneous corpus study. The paper first briefly outlines the behavior of the schwa and the interest of the study. It then deals with the way FFL textbooks introduce the schwa to pre-intermediate learners. Finally, the research is presented and the conclusions achieved are discussed.
