Summary/Abstract: The author describes new technologies used in public participation process and the interdependence between data and their application in spatial planning and the idea of a smart city. She analyses the procedural model of using data, defines a new approach to planning, known as e-participation in planning. She also shows types of spatial data, which can be used at various stages of preparing the local land use plan.
