Summary/Abstract: An analysis of printed ephemera issued on Polish territories in the 19th and 20th centuries, including a review of the role of printed ephemera among methods of historical enquiry, the terminological challenges connected with their usage and the problems with their classification and records, mainly in archives, as well as a discussion of the impact of printed ephemera on social and national consciousness. The role of printed ephemera as propaganda tools, especially in political conflicts, has been explored in greatest detail.
