Summary/Abstract: The author presents the image of a modern father - present in the child's life and involved in his upbringing. The book contains a comprehensive discussion of the topic, from the theoretical description of family history, through the psychological approach to parental behavior, to the presentation of the author's typology of fatherly attitudes. The author describes and analyzes paternal attitudes in the Polish rural environment on the example of the Płock poviat. The issues raised are also presented from the perspective of the respondents themselves, analyzing their perception of the role of the father and the feelings associated with her, as well as the factors conditioning the participation of men in childcare.
