Summary/Abstract: A historical and philosophical monograph devoted to the aesthetic thought of Baumgarten, presented against the backdrop of the school of Leibniz and Wolff, and the pietists. The author highlights Baumgarten’s original contribution to the creation of philosophical aesthetics, which he understood to be an anthropological and educational project. According to the philosopher, reflection on art in aesthetics was a reflection on the art of (good) living. The publication also features translations of extensive fragments of Aesthetics and Lectures on aesthetics.
