Summary/Abstract: Remediation is the transformation of cinematic works as a result of their media transposition. Utilizing tools offered by media studies, film studies and culture studies, the author examines the changes which accompanied the transformation of silent cinema into digital cinema, as well as cinema’s relationship with the book and the ways in which these two mediums mix and influence each other. The analyses are based on two films: Strong Man and Metropolis, presenting the path of cultural texts starting with the book, continuing through silent cinema, and up to digitized cinema and film work currently found in the web.
