Summary/Abstract: A relational concept of space that encompasses social structures, the material world of objects and bodies, and the symbolic dimension. The author assumes that space emerges through the interaction of objects, structures and actions. Löw develops a dynamic theory that explains the relational context in which space is constituted. The author’s innovative perception of interdependency of the material, social and symbolic dimension of space generates a new perspective on architecture and urban development.
