Summary/Abstract: A collection of exercises covering the qualitative analysis of cations I (Al3+, NH4+, Ca2+, Mg2+) and II (Ag+, Cu2+, Fe3+, Cr3+), and anions (SO42–, CO32–, C2O42–, PO43–, Cl–, I–, NO3–), together with characteristic reactions enabling detection of particular cations and anions. The script also contains the exercises in the quantitative analysis methods, including the ways of standardizing solutions, acid-base titration, complexometry, oxidimetry, as well as pH-metry with an explanation of the basic formulas used in calculating the pH of solutions, and spectrophotometry.
