Summary/Abstract: Missing Pieces I: The Sanctuary of Lashes is a poignant and unforgettable novel of love, loss, memory, and resilience. Growing up in a state-run children's home, Ahmet learns to survive in a world shaped by abandonment, friendship, and hope. His life changes forever when he meets Müjgan, a young woman whose presence brings light to his darkest days. Yet their love unfolds against the turmoil of 1980s Türkiye, where political repression, exile, imprisonment, and separation threaten to destroy everything they hold dear. Spanning years of longing, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion, this deeply moving story explores the meaning of belonging, the power of human dignity, and the lengths people will go to protect those they love. A lyrical and emotionally powerful novel that lingers long after the final page.
