Summary/Abstract: In Valeriu Marcu, the tragedy of the expulsion of the Jews from Spain—which culminated in the decree of 1492—found an incorruptible chronicler. Valeriu Marcu (1899–1942), a writer and journalist of Romanian-Jewish descent who wrote in German, published this work in 1934 with the exile publishing house Querido in Amsterdam. It was published in Germany for the first time in 1991. Valeriu Marcu was a former communist who recognized the corruption of the ideology in time.
