Summary/Abstract: The educational process is not solely about the transmission of knowledge, but fundamentally about relationships. Where, however, does the boundary lie between professional engagement and personal involvement? This publication addresses the sensitive and often taboo topic of dual relationships in academic settings, with particular attention to the field of psychology. The book systematically examines the theoretical foundations, typologies, and ethical frameworks of such relationships. The authors draw not only on international literature and professional codes of conduct, but primarily on original empirical research conducted within Czech university departments of psychology. Through the analysis of specific scenarios, they explore the fine line between relationships that may enrich the educational process and those that compromise objectivity and entail risks of power misuse. The aim of the publication is not to offer a simple guide to the universal management of dual relationships, but rather to provide tools for navigating ethically “grey zones.” It represents a valuable resource for university teachers, students, researchers, and higher education administrators committed to fostering a safe and ethical culture of education.
