Summary/Abstract: This publication commemorates the 400th anniversary of the birth of Karl II of Liechtenstein-Castelcorno, one of the most prominent figures in Moravian history. Serving as Bishop of Olomouc for more than three decades (1664–1695), he profoundly shaped the diocese in the aftermath of the Thirty Years’ War. The book presents his visionary leadership, building efforts, and pastoral-legal reforms, particularly through the handbook Monitorium sive Instructio brevis, which defined parish life in Moravia for many years. It also highlights how his foundations, care for St. Wenceslas Cathedral, and network of Baroque structures transformed both the landscape and the spiritual life of the region. This work invites readers to explore the legacy of a remarkable personality of Baroque Moravia.
