Summary/Abstract: Antifascism as a contemporary ideological creed has its roots in the early movements against the fascist regime established in Italy in the early 1920s. Developing from those roots is an ideological and moral orientation that is synonymous with the struggle for social justice and progressive social goals. This phenomenon reflects the fact that, historically, antifascism emerged on the radical left, as a form of decisive struggle against fascism, understood as a stage of capitalism. Over time, however, the concept has evolved, and today it signifies a universal opposition to the surviving, revived, and modified remnants of fascist ideological worldviews and political practices.
