Summary/Abstract: What I propose in this volume – by combining five studies that analyse unique ways in which Romanian writers spend their vacations (vacations at the sea, in the mountains, in ruins, in the sanatorium) – is to outline the frames of a specific literary loisir in which the intervention of a discursive pattern, correlated to an imaginary pattern, becomes more important than the tourist experience itself and changes something essential in its format. It can be about pre-existing discursive patterns – as happens in the romantic case of the poetry of ruins. However, it happens more often that the discursive forms related to the writer’s vacation experiences are not immediately perceptible, even if they are the most important justification of the loisir formula.
