Summary/Abstract: Myths have been present in human life since the beginning of existence. They explained what was unknown, gave strength and knowledge, and provided security. However, with the development of science, myths seemed to disappear, and their influence weakened. However, nowadays, due to the world's increasing complexity, humans return to familiar solutions and myths implied in their thinking and behaviour. This publication aims to present myths concerning the child and childhood. This innovative study on the topic fits into the need to continuously develop new models for analysing the issues related to the child and childhood. Undoubtedly, mythologizing ways of thinking about children and childhood is one of the many age-old problems of social reality that have not been scientifically discovered and described. This publication is therefore a response to the contemporary need to demythologize thinking about children and childhood."
