Summary/Abstract: The volume explores, through an interdisciplinary approach, the concept of the threshold space. This involves an expanded understanding of the idea of the limit and its transformation, focusing on architectural elements that define the boundaries between public and private/semi‑private space. The mediating role of intermediate spaces is highlighted, as well as their significant urban and social impact. The threshold space is not merely a boundary or an intermediate zone; it is the result of a complex understanding of contemporary space, within the context of an architectural anthropology that is only now beginning to take shape as a discipline, emphasizing both how architecture is conceived and how it is perceived or used, while itself contributing to a series of social processes. Approaching contemporary architecture through the lens of threshold spaces can be valuable for researchers, educators, and students alike, contributing to a deeper understanding of its role at the social level.
