Summary/Abstract: This volume, Minor Medieval Art in Banat, marks the culmination of three decades of research into the medieval history and material culture of Banat, beginning with earlier studies on medieval jewelry. The work was completed within the cross‑border Phare project “The Citadels of Banat – a European Cultural Heritage”, carried out by the Museum of the Mountainous Banat in partnership with the Regional Museum of Zrenjanin. The project involved creating a repertory of medieval fortifications, marking them on site, and organizing an exhibition, all made possible through close collaboration with Serbian museum partners. A major component of the research consisted of gathering information on medieval jewelry from Banat preserved in museums across Romania, Serbia, and Hungary. This task proved challenging due to the dispersion of artifacts, from Belgrade and Budapest to Bucharest, Novi Sad, Vršac, Zrenjanin, Pančevo, Szeged, Reșița, Caransebeș, and Timișoara, but was made possible through the support and generosity of numerous museum professionals. The study benefited from access to important collections, including pieces from Arača and Dobrica, as well as from extensive photographic documentation. The publication also reflects the administrative and logistical complexities of implementing a cross‑border project, challenges overcome with the help of dedicated colleagues. The author expresses gratitude to collaborators, museum staff, and family members whose support made the completion of this scientific work possible. The volume stands as both a scholarly contribution to the study of medieval Banat and a testament to sustained regional cooperation.
