Summary/Abstract: Southeast Europe, particularly the Balkan region, faces numerous challenges in the field of human rights. Although certain progress has been made over the past decades, persistent problems—such as political pressures, ethnic tensions, discrimination, gender inequality, and weak institutions—remain deeply rooted in social and political structures. These issues affect the daily lives of citizens and hinder democratization and long-term regional stability. This section analyzes the key human rights problems in the Balkans, with emphasis on specific challenges, supported by available reports and data.
