Summary/Abstract: The book is a collection of Steiner's literary studies, originally published in English, devoted, among other things, to specific problems of Czech interwar structuralism, questions not only from Herbartian aesthetics, but also interpretations of selected works of world literature. The studies are being published for the first time in Czech translation by Bohumil Fořt. The monograph was edited by Natálie Trojková and Richard Změlík, who also wrote the foreword.
