Summary/Abstract: This anthology is the result of a year-long research conducted in cooperation with many women's organizations that deal with the protection of human rights and dealing with the past and reconciliation and women who bravely spoke about their experiences from the war period. Women's words are often misused, twisted or used as a weapon of war propaganda, according to the editors of the book, so there are few who listened to them, who faithfully wrote it down and promoted it.This book, an anthology of women’s records about the wars waged on the soil of the former Yugoslavia in 1991-1999, is the product of a yearlong exploration in cooperation with many women’s organizations, human rights organizations, organizations which deal with the past and reconciliation, and the individual women who bravely voiced their experiences, recorded their experiences and/or endorsed these experiences. We made our selections from the sources within our reach. The available sources are listed in the Bibliography. We hope that this book will not remain the only one of its kind and that it will encourage further research and more books. With the exception of some inevitable abridgements marked (…), we have reproduced all of the texts faithfully.
