Summary/Abstract: Humankind is going through a Grand Transition to a society with less population and workforce growth, radically new technologies, more real protection of environment and climate, shifted economic and geopolitical power between the countries of the world. Energy economies are going through a Grand Energy Transition. Planning of these transitions is a supreme science that predetermines the future of the planet by investing huge human, material and financial resources. The purpose of this book is the profitable participation of the Bulgarian nation in the Grand Transition. The book describes and explains the influencing circumstances for the development of energy industry and society, as well as the methods, forces and means for determining and achieving the goals of the single stages in this development. The exposition engages the reader in thinking about crucial issues and directs him to useful sources for specialization and improvement. The book is intended for representatives of the state administration, national entrepreneurial circles, politicians, scientists, graduate and undergraduate students in the fields of energy, economy, environment, climate, and social science. It teaches, but it is not a textbook. It can educate patriotic publicly engaged people, who care about the national rise, so that wise leaders of the Bulgarian part of the "bottom billion" could emerge from among them.
