Summary/Abstract: An activist group and network of a feminist-anti-militarist orientation, made up of women of different generations and ethnicities, of different educational and cultural levels, social status, lifestyles, and sexual choices. The common denominator is the rejection of every kind of politics of war and violence, first of all by the state or community in which we live, and then by all others, women's visible and public resistance to all forms of patriarchy: nationalism, militarism, fundamentalism. A very different number of people participate in actions, either on the street or in other very diverse activities of Women in Black: sometimes only a few of them, and sometimes a few hundreds, depending on political and social circumstances, needs and possibilities.
